Deputy Police Chief Michael McLean Receives Public Safety Leadership Award

 

Elmhurst, IL—Elmhurst Deputy Police Chief Michael McLean has received the prestigious Executive Leadership Award from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety. The award was presented on December 8, 2017, at the Center’s 425th graduation ceremony in Skokie, Illinois for the School of Police Staff and Command.

 

By successfully completing the Center’s entire sequence of Management programs, including Supervision of Police Personnel, School of Police Staff & Command, and the Executive Management Program, Deputy Chief McLean has demonstrated a commitment to delivering the best, most professional service possible to his community.  He was nominated for the award by Chief Michael R. Ruth of the Elmhurst Police Department.

 

The Northwestern University Center for Public Safety was established in 1936 to expand the scope of university-level education in traffic safety. Since that time, the Center has broadened its offerings to include Police Operations and Management programs. Law enforcement agencies have also come to depend on the Center for university-level research programs, technical assistance and conferences on crucial and timely issues. The Northwestern University Center for Public Safety has provided continuing education to nearly a quarter of a million professionals in Law Enforcement and related fields from all fifty states and thirty-eight foreign countries.
