Andrew Young: Recurrence: Chicago artist Andrew Young will present his most recent works. This exhibition will depict the wide breadth of the artist's contemporary collage making Young's visual vocabulary includes colorful abstract geometric patterned collages to botanical or environmental elements that are woven among the layers of handmade materials.

Nubes: Landscape with Clouds. This exhibition will present Chicago artist Xavier Toubes, know primarily for his important ceramic work. Mr. Toubes work is not the traditional pottery; visitors will experience a unique contemporary vision in the way he conceives structure and glaze.

Stitches & Stories: Quilts from the Elmhurst Piecemakers. Throughout history, quilts have presented a unique way of telling stories through their colorful fabrics and intricate patterns. This museum presents a stunning array of contemporary quilts in this special exhibit from local quilters. Group 1 is on Display September 23-November 9 and Group 2 from November 18-January 4, 2009. SPECIAL EXHIBIT. "Ilay Schar Gen Paintings" Lapidary hobbyist Lyle LeGrand of Lake San Marcos, California made cabochon jewelry for years. In 1983 he decided to try his hand at gem carving. Believing he was not artistic, he decided to begin with a turtle. Mr. LeGrand went on to win many awards at the National Gem and Mineral shows for his carving. He is known as the "Critter Carver" for his whimsical and life-like animal carvings. Three of his nephrite jade carvings will be on display.Will be at the museum from October 1 thru January 4, 2009. NOTE: Gallery Talk will be on Saturday & Sunday November 8 and 9. Reservations recommended 630-833-1616.
