Office of Senior ServicesMetropolitan Family Services provides consultations for seniors (60+) and their caregivers with a variety of services:

For Seniors:

Consultation- about problems typically faced by Seniors
Counseling- for stress, worry, grief, depression,etc.
Information- brochures and flyers on many topics
Support Groups- for women ago 60 and over (TBD)
Referral- we match your problem to a program that can help

Senior Groups:

• Life Transition Group
• Mindfulness Meditation Group - A 30-minute session where we will practice breathing exercises, meditation and other mindful activities. (Every Monday 1:45-2:15pm , Wednesday 10:15-10:45am, Friday 11:45am-12:15pm). In-person at the Kies Recreation Center. 
• Mental Flexibility Group - An hour-long class where we will learn how to be mentally flexible in order to live fully with life's pressures, such as stress, illness, anxiety, depression, aging issues, chronic pain and more. (Every 2nd and 4th Friday 12:30-1:30pm) Zoom and in-person attendance available.

• Bingocize (starting in the Fall) - A combination of Bingo, health education, and exercise. In-person at the Kies Recreation Center.
  

For Caregivers:

Consultations- about problems typically faced by caregivers
Counseling- for Caregiver stress and making difficult decisions
Information-  brochures and flyers for Caregivers
Referral- we match your problem to a program that can help

Caregiver Groups:

• Caregiver Support Group - A 90-minute support group for caregivers of older adults and individuals with disabilities to get answers, share experiences and find support. (Every 2nd and 4th Thursday 10-11:30am) Zoom and in-person attendance at the KRC.
• Grandparents Raising Grandchildren - A 90-minute support group for grandparents raising their grandchildren, or other kinship care situations to find support, resources, and information. (Every 4^th Monday 6:30-8pm on Zoom and every 2^nd Tuesday on Zoom and in-person at our Wheaton office).

Consultations with their experienced staff can be conducted over the phone or by video conferencing, Monday - Friday. Please contact (331)871-5537. Be sure to leave a voicemail if you do not connect with a person.

All of our services, except for meeting with our psychiatrist, are free of charge for DuPage residents age 60 and up and for caregivers.
