Vehicle Stickers
All vehicles registered or garaged in the City of Elmhurst are required to display a current year Elmhurst vehicle sticker. Vehicle stickers are renewed during the period of March 1st through April 30th of each year and must be displayed by May 1st. Vehicle stickers are valid from May 1st through April 30th of the following year.
Residents with information on file will receive a pre-printed form in the mail. If you do not receive a form by March 10th, please call city hall or stop by and obtain a blank application. Keep in mind that license plate numbers are required on all vehicle sticker applications.
- Transferring Vehicle Stickers
- Transfer stickers must be purchased when a vehicle is sold or substituted for a registered vehicle. You cannot physically transfer the current sticker to another vehicle. You must notify the City and provide the new information within 30 days and purchase a transfer sticker for $2.00. Failure to purchase a transfer sticker will result in a citation. Physically transferring the sticker from the registered vehicle to another can also result in a citation.
- New Residents
- New residents must purchase vehicle stickers within 30 days of moving into Elmhurst. New residents may be eligible for an Elmhurst vehicle sticker at a pro-rated amount of the applicable fee, considering the time of year such a request is made.
