The Human Resources Department functions under the direction of the Human Resource Manager.
The Department holds the following responsibilities:
- Recruitment, interviewing and hiring of new employees.
- Administration and review of insurance.
- Benefits and safety programs.
- Planning and coordinating in-house training seminars.
- Negotiating collective bargaining with unionized groups.
- Developing personnel policies and procedures.
- Analyzing position reclassifications.
- Overseeing risk management for general liablilty and worker's compensation issues.
The Human Resources Manager serves as liaison for the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners (B.O.F.P.C) in establishing police and fire eligibility, promotional lists, and testing.
The manager also oversees distribution of in-house informational publications to employees and plans and coordinates employee incentive programs.
