General Provisions
Garbage, recyclables, and yard waste are picked up on the same day of the week. Pick-up days in the City of Elmhurst are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. If you are unsure what day pick up is provided on your block, please view our garbage pick-up map, or call the Public Works Department at (630) 530-3020.

Please be sure your waste and recyclables are placed at the curb by 6:00 am on your pick-up day.

Holiday Schedule
When a holidays listed below fall on a Sunday through Friday, pick-up will be delayed by one day for the remainder of that week. These holidays are:

Thanksgiving Christmas New Year's Day

Memorial Day Fourth of July Labor Day

The above holidays are the only holidays that the refuse pick up schedule is altered. Saturday holidays do not affect the pick up schedule.

Special Pick-Ups
