Requirements
Special Food Dealers shall be authorized to sell food at retail only on those days automobile exhibition events are held. All such sales shall be conducted only in that public alley known as Schiller Passage located between York Street and Addison Avenue at locations thereon as specified by the City Manager and only between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

The Special Food Dealers license shall be required in addition to all other licenses. Possession of a health permit issued by the DuPage County Health Department and retailer’s occupation tax identification number issued by the Illinois Department of Revenue and shall be prerequisites to issuance of a Special Food Dealers License.

The number of licenses for Special Food Dealers shall be limited to 10 per year and each such license shall expire on October 1 of each year.

Food and Beverage Tax
The City of Elmhurst will collect a 1% Food and Beverage Tax, collectible on the retail sale of food and beverage which includes all food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, which are prepared for immediate consumption and which may be consumed either on and/or off the premise. Retail sales of packaged alcoholic liquor at any packaged liquor establishment are also included. Please contact the Finance Collections Office for more details at (630) 530-3117.
