1. What financial programs are available to locate a business in Elmhurst?

Private Activity Bonds are available through the City of Elmhurst and the Illinois Development Finance Authority. For more information, please contact the City of Elmhurst or the Illinois Finance Authority.

The State of Illinois also offers numerous financial incentives such as tax credits, grants, and loans to businesses. More information is available at the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. As well, the Elmhurst Economic Development Office has worked with local lending institutions and the City of Elmhurst to provide creative financing opportunities for new and existing businesses.

2. What areas of the community can industrial businesses be located in?

The Elmhurst community features three primary concentrations of industrial activity in the community. These are: the area located north of Lake Street and primarily west of York Road, the area between Route 83 and Salt Creek (North of Butterfield Road), and along County Line road (south of Grand avenue).

3. How can I attract potential employees to my business?

A number of employment sources are available. One source, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, provides information about the state's labor market.

An additional agency is the Illinois Employment and Training Center (IETC) of DuPage County. The IETC provides workforce development services, including employment and training services for DuPage area residents and businesses.
