Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing Program Begins

City of Elmhurst Water Distribution crews will begin the annual fire hydrant flushing program this week. Crews will flush and inspect every city-owned fire hydrant (Approx 2,400). The flushing program is divided into 4 sections working South to North. The hydrant flushing program will take eight (8) weeks and should be completed by October 31. Please refer to the attached map for the tentative schedule. Signs will be placed out in each area a week in advance to notify residents of programmed flushing.
